Yes, yes... I know many of you here will never, ever purchase an EV; you'll drive ICE vehicles even AFTER you die - I get it.   However, last year, in America, the electric Mustang MACH-E outsold the ICE Mustang.

Production totals: MACH-E up 27% to c.52,000 vehicles sold, while Mustang was down 9.5% with 44,000 units sold.     The times they are a chang'n....    🙄 😐

...and now for the rest of the story...

When asked about the sales dip, Ford spokesperson Mike Levine noted that the automaker experienced supply issues with the Mustang's 2.3-liter turbo-4 engine through the second half of 2024, leading to tight inventories through that period.

Now you know the rest of the story. Smile

First of all, lets set the record straight.  The Mach E is not a Mustang and should never have been given the designation. Ford goofed 100% on the name.  Maybe it should have been named just Mach E or Maverick which would have suited it better than a Maverick pickup.  I do not know what they are thinking when naming new vehicles they are bringing to the public.  Just my opinion, I would never own an electric car, even if it is faster than my Challenger.  Who wants to hear a whine instead of a Roar when you hit the gas to pass.

As I've alluded to in the past.... Baby Boomers & Gen X-ers undoubtedly share your sentiment.    However, Millennials, Gen-Z & Alphas (...and Betas ) feel differently.

@lloyd-mecca Speaking of the Mustang with the 2.4 Turbo engine....has anyone driven one?  If so what was it like?

Seriously? The only thing in common is the name. One is a 4door electric SUV and the other is a sporty 2door ICE coupe/convertible. One is not, I repeat, not stealing sales from the other.

My guess is that the Macan far outsells the 911, yet I don't see Porscheaphiles worried that the times are achang'n concerning their sports car.

You missed the point:

As I noted, Mustang MACH-e sales were up 27% last year but Mustang sales were down 9.5%.  Of course it's NOT "one stealing sales from another"  but rather, "one is on its way up, while the other is on its way down - despite being all-new."    😬 😬

The times are indeed "achang'n."    😏 😏

There are two types of Mustangs: Fast and REALLY fast.

2.4 = over 300hp   5.0 = over 400hp   The only real difference is price & sound... you can hear a 4-banger 'Stang a mile away - and it doesn't sound all that impressive, but of course it's less expensive.

@chris I definitely get the importance of the sound of a fast car.....I'll take the 5.0 every time.  Impressive HP numbers from the 4 banger though.
