YOUR LIFE.
Do not lose control of your life. This means deciding when and with whom to go out, what to eat, how to dress, who to call, what time to sleep, what to read, what to have fun with, what to buy, where to live, etc.
If you can't do all these things freely and on your own, you'll become an unbearable person who will be a burden on others.
William Shakespeare said, "I am always happy!" Do you know why? Because I don't expect anything from anyone. Waiting is always agonizing. Problems aren't eternal; they always have a solution. We believe we are to blame for our problems.
The only one for which there is no cure is death.
I agree with John; excellent advice. I'd just add - laugh as much as possible and enjoy yourself through life, cause none of us are getting out alive!!!
Thanks David!
I agree with all the above. Life is too short not to be able to enjoy it.
Great advice! I learned early in life that I couldn't count on others to make me happy. I've always been an observer, as I'm always watching what other people do and don't do. I use it as a mirror to see myself and who I want to be. I honestly believe each of us is in charge of our destiny, even though there are setbacks and roadblocks along our journey. I've learned to take responsibility for my actions, good or bad, and never point a finger at someone else to blame. I'm not saying it's always easy to do these things, but I always try and I think it's made me better person.
