PART 3:
The tedious work continues as I "refine" this rig. I removed the cab's decals, added scale details to the trailer, installed a mounting pin/hitch, and lowered the cab to a scale-height.... although I may have lowered it a bit too much. No problem, if I need to raise it, I'll just add a few micro-shims.Â
A TON more work to do (including "adjusting/refining" that load of '57 Fords )....stay tuned!Â
@chris they all look sensational Chris. Haulers have further value as they display a number of same scale models in an authentic setting. Thanks for posting these.
What a great-looking automobile carrier ! A very impressive construction/fabrication project.

Thank you Geoff and Mike, I appreciate that.Â
PART 4:
Â
Just a bit more work....small details AND I realized the front part of the trailer was "too gappy"Â between the bottom of the trailer and the top of the cab rear wheels.
So, I had to completely undo all the "front work."Â I replaced the floor, extended the sides down and re-shape the wheel cut-outs.
The only concession is in the lower trailer sides, they're a bit too high but making them lower will compromise the structure. This is thin plastic, not brass (which I did consider).  I have more 1/64 1957 Fords but haven't gotten to them yet.   LOTS MORE to do, stay tuned.....Â
Â
Â
remarkable attention to details, and the skills to do them! Great stuff Chris
Excellent Chris. You certainly know how to dot the Is and cross the Ts.
PART 5:
Sifting through dozens of 1/64 rims & tires to find the best ones was a tedious task. Next, I had to color-match rims and adjust whitewall sizes (for one car only ).Â
I had hoped to use two Matchbox 1957 Fords... a 2-dr sedan & 4-dr wagon, but despite being in scale with each other, they're not in 1/64 scale. Therefore, I was forced to use four hardtop body styles. Then I had to adjust the wb & stance on each car to simulate that proper "tied-down" look.
All four cars will come apart one final time for detail & side glass work. Then (finally! ) I can move on the body filler & primer work on the trailer. Please note the C.O.E.'s chrome bumper will be replaced with a less glamours black one.
extraordinary detail there Chris. Cant wait for the finished product. Surely you will be entering this in a model car show?

Thanks. "Model car show?"  ...Perhaps. 🤔 🤨 🤔  Officially, I've been in only one model show, in high school (40 years ago ). It was a model-car contest between two schools. I was lucky enough to win 1st prize; I still have the trophy and the model.

suggest some serious thought Chris!
I went to my first ever model show last year, an annual event and I'll go this year. Here are a few pics of the winners in the automotive section from last year.

I just couldnt walk away from that 1960 Ford Starliner.

Yes, my favorite too, all that attention to 1960 factory-accurate detail makes that Ford a real stand out!
The model I won that contest with, 40 years ago, however, wouldn't grant me admission today. 70% of all the tools & supplies that contribute to today's outstanding models didn't exist back then. I am considering, after I weather the truck, entering my 1/18 fabricated 1956 hauler project... We'll see. 🤔 🤨

Â
thats spectacular Chris I hope u do enter it.
