For many years one of the largest and most important new automobile shows in the world and still one of the major exhibitions of new cars was/is the Chicago Automobile Show.
Since my Dad's exhibit company designed and set up the exhibits for clients and my Grandfather was Assistant Chief engineer at Diamond-T Trucks, I went to it for many years and got in early, just before it opened. It was always a thrill and you can imagine a kid there with wide eyes and amazing cars (and beautiful female models !
I still have some of the badges from the shows in Chicago (and some from other cities exhibition halls) and I came across them as I was moving a few blocks away recently.
These are wonderful.
THAT, Mike, is a fantastic collection! What a great and nostalgic 'find'! I know it has to stir fond emotions. Congrats!
Those are awesome! Never being an exhibiter (but I did get in early a few times... 😏 😏) I didn't even know there were badges. Very cool! 😎 😎
- and welcome to the Forums! It's always nice to meet & greet new members!
wonderful memorabilia Mike
Thanks, everyone ! I am lucky to have such such a collection from those times.
By the way, I am still having some problems and troubles logging on here so I am a bit inconsistent and delayed in my responses. I will try and get that improved, even under my new forum log on name.
@bob-jackman Yes, of course... I was being bit facetious (albeit some-what lame... ) As of late, Mike's been having a terrible time with his logins and/or Forum profile info. He's had several different looks in the past 10 days.... 🙄 🙄 🙄
Loved the Chicago Automobile Show, haven't attended in many years, then again no one makes automobiles anymore, at least not in the USA.

Great links Jay, thanks. By "automobiles" I assume you mean "cars." Counting foreign brands, over 10 million vehicles are still produced in America, ten American cars are among them. Sadly, as you are aware, cars are in low demand around the globe. 😔 😔
I haven't been at the Chicago Auto Show in quite a while and especially so since my Dad passed away many years ago.I think there was a deliberate effort by "Detroit"to raise the importance of the Detroit Auto Show and also do more vehicle introductions there at Detroit's Cobo Hall.
Also, I apologize for the delays in answering posts sometimes as I am still having some problems and long delays when I log in under this new User Name.
