@perrone1 One would think an old Sicilian man should know how to use a razor knife...it slipped and my thumb got in the way.

Here's another Siciliano who gets himself in that same type of trouble.
Seriously, sorry about your injury. Take care of it!!
@perrone1 Thanks Tony! It's all better now...it happened early into the project. Biggest nuisance was taking a shower with my left hand in a zip-lock bag...good thing it wasn't the right hand.

"I spent countless hours and a trip to urgent care for seven stiches and a splint to my thumb...."
Allow me to give you some advice John...... don't do that again, OK? The trick is to always use SHARP blades (dull blades will wander ) and NEVER ever take your eyes off your work. I never had an accident like that - BUT.......
LSS: On a 1/18 project many years ago, I was holding a plastic piece while was drilling from the bottom upwards. Just as I thought about putting a piece of wood between my finger and that piece - I drill through my finger! 😬 😬 😬 😳 😳 😳
THANK GOD you'd never know it now, my finger healed perfectly. I was very lucky.
Sorry to hear this John and glad you are okay now. Many years ago when we still lived in the midwest where we had basements, I used to finish off the basements for additional living area. One day I was scribing a piece of plexiglass for a light fixture, the knife slipped over the straight edge and got my thumb. I went upstairs to clean the wound and my wife just about passed out saying we need to get to the emergency room. Long story short, I taped the tip of my thumb back in place and it all healed. Today you can still see a faint scar but the thumb works fine.
Gents thanks for the kind words.

@sizedoesmatter I’m adding my two cents a little late in the game John, but I wanted to tell you how cool the truck looks. It’s great to see something out of the ordinary, especially when it’s something meaningful to the builder. Good job Amici.
wow, so far all I've managed to slice incorrectly, cover with the incorrect red paint, drill in the wrong place and the wrong size have been my models! No doubt my time will come!
Glad you're on the mend John.
