nice kit but no engine, 😡. Had terrible trouble with the BMF, dont know why this is the 4th time I've used it, but it had trouble sticking and when trimming the excess it would just crumble leaving little bits everywhere. After removing the mess, I repainted it and used a chrome pen. I matched the exterior color pretty well but interior is a bit 'lemoney'. I've really become keen on 60s and 70s Cadillacs would like to find more kits and some of those great 1/43s that are around.
Excellent build - love the color!
...I'm fascinated by this model's grill. Did you expertly "black-wash" it or did it come this way, or is it open? In any case, it looks quite convincing. 😎 😀 Also, as Tony said, it's a great color for this car.
Thanks Tony.
Chris this is the 'blackwash' I use. Usually its hard to get equal amounts in the little holes and crevices but I was in luck mostly here. I use the grey to try and give those awful chrome headlight lenses a 'clearish' look. Actually just looking at the Pontiac GTO the BMF effort on it has come up reasonably OK. Dunno what happened with the Cadillac, maybe the paint? On your advice, I used a new blade, I even bought a new knife/blade set. Thanks for your response.
Love the '66 CDV...missing engine is not a liability as I never display my cars with the hood open. Seems I posted this before...its daja-vu all over again?nice kit but no engine, 😡.
