There is a recently posted article in MAR Online about an Italian "master modeller", with a link to more images of his work. Fascinating stuff, although more than a little depressing to anyone who fancies himself as a car modeller.Anyway, it prompted me to dig out an old article I came across many years ago, about another "master modeller" working in very different circumstances.

I sent a copy to the old print edition MAR quite some time ago and it was published, but some of you may not have seen it at the time, and if you have any interest in modelling handicrafts it is well worth a read.

That's an incredible story of determination and human perseverance & preservation.   The fact that such a functional scale replica could even be constructed - under those circumstances - is nothing short of astonishing.   Just incredible!

Thank you Graeme. I do remember reading this before but not sure that It was MAR or years earlier. In any event, a good and interesting article.
