As exciting as going to the mailbox was back in the diecast model days, and as much as I looked forward to it, I have to admit it might have been a health risk. I mean when I'd open up envelopes with brochures like the one posted here, I think my heart lost more than a beat or two.
DM had previously given us the almost heart-stopping '47 Buick, and and I was looking at a '48 in all its bulbous beauty. On this model it's the interior that I find so incredibly inviting. The maroon(ish) color glowing within it is perfect to the Regency Blue exterior and the Tan top. And those White Wall Tires are almost as wide a they were on the actual real car. I know it get's said over and over about DM's cars, but I think this could well be one of their most spectacular models ever.
The colors between the '47 and '48 that is the most distinguishingly difference between them and I go back and forth as to which of the two models I like better. I usually settle on "it's a Tie".

Another beautiful Buick model for sure. Even as great as this one is, I am still partial to the '47. The lighter color on the '47 makes the model really stand out. But I am a sucker for a yellow convertible every time.
The '48 continues DMs wonderful Buick lineup, we are so blessed to have had so many offerings from DM in both the '47 & '48 models. The Regency Blue is my favorite color of the two convertibles we have in 1948, although a tough choice because the black version is excellent as well.

Every 47 and 48 DM Buick is a jewel. My absolute favorite is the two tone gray sedanette although I love them all.
I prefer the '48 because it has the "Roadmaster" script on the front fenders.
I have the black convertible and the grey sedanette.
Good topic, George! Buicks always are;)

Revisiting this "I've Got Mail" thread sent me to my model car room and I was loving this Buick all over again. It really does give me goose-bumps!
My uncle Ernie was a Buick man back in the 1950's and I remember him owning one like this model in the yellow, only his was a hardtop. I liked the color, but it was the car that was so cool looking to me.

This era of Buick was quite something! I always loved the tail end design in particular.
