PICS: My WISH LIST 1:24 die-cast car #11 1955 MERCURY

Both Franklin and Danbury gave us '55 Ford's, but never got around to giving us a '55 Mercury. No doubt the Mercury for this model year was much changed from the previous couple of years, and to my eyes it always looked like a Ford that had been customized.

I liked it!

The color combinations were always sexy and inviting and the chrome sweep on the sides had a sporty "in motion" look to it. Up front the grille was tough looking and the taillights had a domineering presence. The whole car was luxury like in appearance.

I would still love to have one (or more in various color combo's) of these "Big M's" parked on my shelves.

I'll go for one those as well, and why they are at it, do a '56 too.

I'll take a '55 and '56 and for that matter most any '55 and '56.

Yes, I would like both a 55 and 56 in 1/24 scale. Thanks to 1/43 manufacturers I have both.My collection includes as many images as possible regardless of scale.I can't imagine having a model car collection and not having cars like this represented. I know we're all different which is why our opinions, and our collections, are all different.Incidentally, the yellow car has factory A/C which makes it quite rare.

Would have been great, esp. a model with factory a/c like this yellow one.

Bob, I admire you and applaud you for your incredible collection. I remember seeing the TV special that was done on it, and I was nothing short of in awe!

That TV program was done four years ago and the collection has grown since then.

Thanks for the nice comments. My wish is that everyone on the forum could visit and see the collection first hand.
