Best of the bunch? The Compuware Corvette from GMP. It beats out the Danbury Cadillac due to the wheel/tire issue. The one with the least detail? The Dodge Ram pickup (still massively heavy, though). Most detail for the price point? The Mattel Corvettes. Only $150 each and they hold up against the rest of the collection.

PICS - Deagostini produces and sells models piece by piece with a subscription to their magazine.

Every week, you can purchase the next part that when all collected, will provide all of the pieces to build the model. Frequently on eBay, either a completed car is sold or the parts are sold to enable the model to be built. Expect to pay $1500 to $2000 for an unbuilt model.

I took photos of my buddy's completed Enzo. I have one too but have not assembled it. The models feature headlamps, taillamps, and dashboard that illuminate. The engine also "revs" throught a hidden speaker. It also has working windows and operating convertible top.

The Cadillac...

DOES feature working suspension.. albeit, very stiff but it does work.

It is most likely the most sophisticated of DM's MUSEUM MASTERPIECE series. The tirew problem is soo easily remedied... and I even submitted the solution to this forum as well as JSS. I have owned my Caddy since January 2008(?)
and fixed the tire situ immediately(including the sidemounts) and to this day, the tire treads remain correctly affixed to the wsw cores....

Part of FM's downfall is that they always failed to go the slight extra :mike" so to speak... they produced a godd replica but failed to add the items that would make that replica a GREAT replica.
The lack of a working convertible top is another example of their insufficiency in their efforts. FM was always looking for ways to cut costs and never cared about the outcome...

What also irks me about their 1:12 Corvette is that the windows dont roll all the way down only like 2/3rds of the way. I am sure a 1967 1:1 Corvettes side windows go ALL the way down! LOL Another silly short cut. They sort of work!

Beautiful car. I read about these some time ago. Not only do these cars take a long time to be built - they are extremely expensive.

Can someone please direct me to this fix? I assume mine have done it. However I haven't looked at it since I purchased it.

OK, I will jump in. I have the DM 1964 Mustang (actually two of them), and both 1957 BelAir convertibles, red and turquoise. I would like to get a few more, namely, both DM Corvettes, blue and black, and the DM 1930 Cadillac, if I could find one without the expanding tire problem.

There are two kinds of DM 1930 1:12 scale Cadillacs.

1. With the expanding tire problem
2. With the expanding tire problem repaired.

Those are the choices.

did they ever made classics or are they just in exotic models?

The chassis is metal and the body is plastic. There are lots of natural materials too along ...
