IXO did do a 1941 Chevrolet sedan in US Navy livery.   I got two and civilianized one.    Shown also with a 1941 Desoto.   Seems 1941 was a popular year for model makers.

1941 Chev Desoto
1941 Chev X2

And then there were various 1941 Buicks

1941 Buicks X5 #1
1941 Buicks X5 #4

Plus the Brooklin Pontiacs

1941 Pontiacs X2 #1
1941 Pontiacs X3 #3

@john-quilter. In one of your photos, you show a picture of a 1941 Buick 2 dr cpe. Is this one of your custom creations or is it an issue from western models, etc? I have never seen this model before. Also, if it's your own build, what was the donor car that you used for the roof? Thanks.

I have the Motor City 41 Plymouth coupe in green along with the Durhams mentioned above. I have always though the 41 Plymouth was a beautifully designed car.

Durham Classics was one of the best company in white metal world. I have only one model in collection- Ford Coupe. Several years ago I was hunting for Ford Monarch but couldn't buy it. Anx now in our country there are not many models in selling. Very sad that Durham Classics has closed its doors. Contemporary resin models from China don't have such charm and details made with love. I really can't undetstand why model makers continue to invest to chinese economic destroying the national industry.

The Buick coupe is a resin model kit done decades ago by Jerry Rettig.   He also did a notchback four door and a woody as shown.

The two 1941 Desotos sedans shown below are Bangladesh made Altaya items from their military series.   One was civilianized and one converted to a coupe replicating one in the movie Cool Hand Luke from the famous car washing scene.  Being a former naval officer I retained the US Navy Chevrolet in navy livery.

1941 Desoto 4 dr #1
1941 Desoto coupe
1941 Desoto Army#1
1941 Desoto cp const #2
1941 Desoto X2 #1
1941 Desoto X2 #2

@john-quilter Many thanks.  I shall keep an eye out for these Altaya models, in the hope of one day - maybe - trying to do similar.

Fred, there are many for sale at good prices on eBay. Here's one that would look great next to your Ford:
