No matter how you feel about this "Final Packard" you can't deny that the model issued by GLM and Tom Dirnberger was indeed a very fine example. The model was issued in mid-2023 and made available in 7 color combinations. Being a fan of the 1:1 and the Hawk body style, they were all important for me to add to my collection. Each of the colors are clearly standouts.
1958 Packard Hawk Hardtop Coupe, in Park Green, #01 of 60 (57 were actually issued) and Parchment White, #01 of 60 (59 were actually issued)

As usual, Tom D. has excellent taste in the colors he chooses. And they are all factory correct. Beautiful models.

These are great models; IMO, better than the real thing! I was glad to see 1/43 examples; these Packardbakers should not be overlooked. Nice pics, John. 👍

Another great post Mister Merritt. As a lifelong fan of Studebaker and a one-time owner of one or two, I still couldn't get past the restyled grill.

...as you're undoubtedly aware, the automotive press was down-right brutal in their criticisms of these "shovel-nose Packardbakers!"

Growing up. I don't remember seeing one '58 Packard on the road. In 1964, I was driving to work to a nearby town known for its radar traps. Parked on the side of the road was a faded, tired looking black '58 with its left tail light removed and a radar antenna protruding from the hole. I loved that gen Studebaker Golden Hawk which was so easily customized with interchangeable body parts from the '53 all the way to the early '60s Gran Turismo. I turned back to stare at that Packard's nose thinking it looked just creepy.

This is the Shadowtone Red/Beige version, but it sure looks purple to me!
