Built in 1918 in Colorado Springs, "The Broadmoor" resort offers 5 star luxury accommodations with fabulous views of mountains, lake and, of course, a golf course. It looks like a mountain fortress that could have been used for "Where Eagles Dare" or even "The Shining". For customer transportation, The Broadmoor has had a long relationship with Cadillac for their fleet. Today, they offer "Ride and Drive" packages for a myriad of Cadillac models a customer can use during their stay. In 1937, they had a fleet of Cadillac V8 Skyview series 75 (the commercial chassis) Touring Cars that offered 7 passengers luxury transportation and used for tours of Pikes Peak. The "Skyview" feature referred to its full length fold back canvas top. They were all painted in "Broadmoor Green". One fully restored model exists at the resort today and can be rented out for special occasions.

Have the model. For 28 consecutive year I worked for a company that held meetings at the Broadmoor. A beautiful place in Colorado Springs. The Broadmoor was built as a nod to the owners of the Antlers who refused to rent them a room based on their attire. If you study the Broadmoor logo you will see the "A' is tilted as a snub to the Antlers.

great all round post gents! It must have been an amazing experience getting up close and personal with a wolf Tony! I love their levels of intelligence and family and social co-ordination. Magnificent animals.

There were two there - both wild initially but injured. They took them into a rehabilitation center and we saw them as they just came out. The one with us was the tamer of the two and super gentle. Shirl wanted to take him home of course!

We'll soon be moving to this area and I'm excited to check this out! I have several of the Broadmoor models representing different eras but didn't know the deep history of the place. Thanks for posting!

Colorado Springs is a great area; Broadmoor, Garden of the Gods; please drive Pikes Peak, at 14000 ft elevation, it is an adventure.
My daughter, Heather, and I, drove from Texas, every summer for 12 years, to visit my best friend Ron, and his family, in Estes Park to horseback ride the Rockies. Where you are moving has a special place in my heart; I believe you'll love it there.
