Very interesting video JK. Love that 1963 Avanti. Thank you. Skylark is no slouch either.
This video certainly hits home. I have owned, at different times, both a 1969 Buick Skylark GS 400 and a 1963 Avanti R1 both of which had automatic transmissions. My Avanti had factory A/C...if you had A/C you could not have the supercharged engine as the A/C compressor and the supercharger occupied the same real estate. Interesting trivia, the rear seat armrests in the Avanti each had ash trays. Turns out those ash trays were identical to the one in my 61 Corvette.
A longtime Avanti fan.

Interesting. Studebaker had some fast cars that no one paid attention to except those in the know. Well, the fact that it cost more than a Corvette had something to do with that. They are surprisingly priced lower now than other super cars of the era. The same engine was also offered in the Lark and that was a little screamer too.
@kocour, I agree the price was a little breathtaking. But even the Corvette, as stunning as it was back then, struggled to look as amazing as that design on the Avanti was. It was a true American GT and its look rivaled anything from Europe.
