For a few years (I've attended a couple - not sure whether they still hold them) the Gilmore Car Museum opens the season with a car show that as they call it "A Dust-Off" show. All makes and models welcomed; it's the show that gets the season underway and was usually held in early May.
I came across a file with photos from the 2014 Show, some I'd posted previously, most I had not. In that fille was a folder that contained about 250 photos of just one car, a 1959 Imperial Crown Hardtop Sedan. It was staged in a way that made the photo op just too good to pass up. The car was positioned in a field area between the barns without another car in the area. From the timestamps on the photos, I spent some quality time with this beauty.
Now this Imperial has come to be one of my favorite cars to see at the various car shows that feature cars like the Imperial, a few months ago I posted photos from a show just this past summer. Looking through my files, the 1st time I saw this car was in 2013, at the 1st show I attended at Gilmore. In the past 12 years, I've seen it a least a dozen times.
Going through the photos, a good portion of them were deleted, another big group just went into a file for whatever, and these 30 shots were processed in the way I do best. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did to prepare them.
If you're interested, I posted a couple 1:43 versions on Forum 43, unfortunately the only model we've been offered for the '59 is a convertible.

This is the perfect color to enhance the elegance of this body style.
Love the pictures but never cared for this year Imperial. IMO the car is too busy design wise and the back bumper just looks silly to me.
I don't have any problem with the back bumper but to be honest I thought the toothy "Buick" grille was kind of gross and old-fashioned looking. The 1958 and 1960 front ends were more subtle and tasteful.
