Everybody, including General Motors was certainly hitting on all cylinders for 1956. It was a nice encore after the big year of 1955.

You are killing me John, just got the DM Buick and it’s magnificent in 1/1 as well. If you would have picked an Olds 88, I’d have gone with the Buick, but I love the little up-kick of the cut line on the top dog ‘98. They are both gorgeous to my eyes!

I MUCH PREFER THE GRILLE, TAIL LIGHTS AND TRIM/COLOR APPLICATION OF THE BUICK.

No better reason than that!

Buick for me too. To me the 1956 Buick has the best details and proportions of the 50s.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

The Ninety Eight series Olds is magnificent with it's beautiful side moldings but the Buick has everything going for it from the grill, side moldings and tail lights. Buick. Both would be welcome in my garage.

OLDSMOBILE!

Bumper to bumper, inside and outside, it wins over Buick without discussion for me!

Those "bullet" taillights are a  knockout.

The oval grill just shouts "look at me"!

The side-trim allows a smooth transition front to back.

And oh Mamma, those "spinner" hubcaps make a bold statement whether the car is parked or zipping down the street.

Finally, there is the "Dashboard"...WOW!  No Fifties car has a more appealing dash than the '56 Olds.

And for those who care what's under the hood, It's a Rocket baby!

I like the Buick too, but next to the Oldsmobile, it's invisible!

Both are stunning. I picked the Olds for the cleaner front end styling.😊

The Olds strikes me as Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca.

But the Buick is quintessentially Lauren Bacall in To Have and Have Not.

Buick for the win John.

Mine as well. We love her in all four Bogart/Bacall films. We watch them periodically. Can you name them?

To Have and Have Not (Her debut at 19 years old)

The Big Sleep

Dark Passage

Key Largo.

Not fond of either, would not buy either.  Prefer the Olds looks though.
