Memories!
Great memories. Lots that we miss today.
Yes, the good old days!

I feel very fortunate to have been born in 1952. I would go back in a heartbeat if it was possible. It wasn't a time without issues of course but IMHO it was a much better life.
That felt like my time. The fifties were great. Well, all except for that Mr. Potato Head thing. I got to know him. Mr. William, I called him. Then mom needed one more potato for dinner. She killed Bill! Never got over it...........
Seriously; thanks for this Bruce - the fifties were the best.
Good stuff. Like Kevin, I frequently say how blessed I was to have grown up in the fifties. Everything in this video were things I experienced. Thanks for the memories Bruce.

'53 for me and you ain't kidding... I've been lucky enough to have a pretty good life as an adult but I'll tell you what I wouldn't want my kids growing up where I live now. I grew up living amongst trees fields streams creeks ponds my friends and I could go hiking all day long and have a great time. And Monday through Friday I would help Billy and Gary deliver their newspapers in that blue coaster wagon. 👍 Saturdays were reserved for a bowl of Cold cereal most often Corn flakes and cartoons. Sunday was reserved for church and then stopping at the local store to pick up some fresh made donuts and the Sunday newspaper.
And I bet JK noticed in passing just how aesthetically advanced some folks were in the 50s in terms of their domestic colour schemes.

I’m 1952 vintage, very rural having grown up in a rented farmhouse on a (muck) vegetable farm. We were surrounded by woods and fields and very few houses, which was fine by me. My wife is a 1954 model, well not actually a model until much later when she became a hand model for a local agency, anyway, she was born in ‘54. She was raised in a small city, North Canton, Ohio, claim to fame, the Hoover sweeper company. Not big city urban, but like Mid Ohio urban. It was about two miles from where I grew up but a very different vibe. When the family went (to town) to do shopping, or go to the drive-in, or whatever, to me as a kid it might as well been that we were visiting New York. This is an email she sent me out of the blue one day. Very cool and very true. She titled it “You were so Blessed!”.
I think the good Lord that I still have these memories and I hope please God that I never lose them. 😇🙏
@graeme-ogg You just can't leave "The Monster" alone can you Graeme! Did you know that there is a small town, apparently somewhere in Ohio, where all bathrooms are just like this? In every residence driveway you will see a Chevrolet station wagon painted in these colors as well. The town is called Kuvakia....it cannot be found on any map...but it exists.
"For those motorists who are overwhelmingly drawn to take the unnumbered freeway exit to Kuvakia...you will unwittingly open the door to an optical assault beyond human comprehension...a color palate so abhorrent it becomes another dimension...a dimension of tastelessness...a dimension of impossibility where Mary Kay and The Hulk have seemingly collaborated to paint the town in bilious hues...a dimension of involuntary acceptance of colors so at odds with one another that it defies human logic. For those who venture to this hamlet from Hades, may God be with you, for there is no coming back from The Kuvakia Zone."
