Compromise is always a good thing but, personally, I'm holding out for very rich and very happy!
LOL! Only those who are not rich say that!! I speak form personal experience.
Thanks for your daily posts, David. They are always enjoyable.

How about well fed and warm? Oh....and a healthy side account for models.
Actually I think it depends on how one defines "Poor, Happy, Rich, and Miserable". For me, "Poor" would be defined as not been able to find myself in life. I define "Happy" as being appreciative of what I have, rather than what I don't.
If you're me, you're "Rich" if you have a life friend and partner that is always with me through all of life's journeys. And finally, "Miserable" is when one is in a mental rut that only allows them to think negatively and remain in a "why me?" state of mind.
This past week, my princess and I celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary and I've never been "poor or miserable", but I've been "rich and happy" every day with her. Money or material things can not and will not ever provide what we have been blessed with.

Congratulations George; that's quite an accomplishment! By 2025 standards, "a good marriage" is any FIRST marriage that lasted 10 years.
Congratulations George. 59 years here with a wife who actually likes my obsession with cars both big and small.

LOL, and even 10 years is a stretch today. We know many couples that have spent money on huge weddings and only a few years later they are no longer together. It's really sad.

....yes indeed George. My son, two brother in laws, two friends, my sister and a handful of nieces & nephews can all tell you about that. 😪 😖
