I just like the Merc better. 😎👍

Not a major fan of either but like both cars. I like the Dodge a little more.
I too, am not really a fan of either, but I like the MERCURY a little better. It flows nicely from hood to trunk with not as many curves and distractions as the Dodge. The latter is just too busy.

Same for me. But I went with the Dodge.
Side trim and taillight treatment wins for the Mercury.

Dodge please. Don't care for the Mercury styling '57 - '60, but the '59 is the best of those years. Dodge '58 - '60 styling while not great are good compared to GM & Ford styling of the same years.
I'm with George on this one. I like both cars. Here's my line of thinking on this excellent comparo. The Dodge has too many odd angles, slashes, and busyness. It's certainly a great-looking car by any measure. But, by '59, the fins were in an industry-wide last gasp. The Mercury design defies the conventions of the day in many ways. In my eyes, it pulls that off quite well. Every line and every piece of trim lends to the "longer, leaner, wider" themes that would dominate the sixties. A quick look at the side views shows it quite well.

I too am not a big fan of either car but Dodge gets the easy win today. This year Mercury is IMHO the most unattractive Mercury ever made.

@jkuvakas LOL......Years ago a girlfriend owned a T-Bird of this era (identical to pic) and I must say that I quite enjoyed it.
I should have been more specific JK; when I say it was the least attractive Mercury ever made I mean from pre-war thru 1972. This is my greatest area of automotive interest.
I share the majority view, I'm not a fan of either, either. But I voted Dodge because for me, all ties go to the Mopar.
Interesting, though, that I absolutely LOVE the GM counterpart to these two - the BEAUTIFUL '59 Pontiac!

@jack-dodds, the interiors on those downsized T-Birds were very nice.

Mercury for me for the previously stated reason, I just like it.
