Congratulations to you George and your bride. Today huge weddings and short marriages are not uncommon.my princess and I celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary
Congratulations George; that's quite an accomplishment! By 2025 standards, "a good marriage" is any FIRST marriage that lasted 10 years.
LOL, and even 10 years is a stretch today. We know many couples that have spent money on huge weddings and only a few years later they are no longer together. It's really sad.
We're going on 57 years of marriage...we know each other for 60 years.

First marriage lasted 18 years. Still married to my second wife [high school sweetheart] since '91 and we have never had a fight. Retired with new home, new car and no debts, With my body falling apart but a wonderful wife that was a nurse to take care of me. BUT, even the best plans go asunder, she came down with alzheimer's. First notice symptoms in '15 could not take care of her & myself any more in '22, live alone since. Drive 70 miles one way every Monday to take her out to lunch.
Throughout the ups and downs of life, which can be heartbreaking at times as we all know, it is so important to stop, take stock of the good and positive things we have or had in life and be grateful. Compared to the daily life of most of the people on this earth we are blessed. Such thoughts help me to maintain a solid foundation during tough times and stay satisfied with life in spite of the inevitable negative factors that show up.

@brush, such an insidious disease. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I've dealt with many families who have. We have experienced it personally with Kelly's mom, who has been living with us for a year. It is consuming. You made the right decision, Bruce, to get her well taken care of by people who are capable and caring.
