@ed-davis

I can only imagine your excitement when you got the key to your first Z and drove off the lot 👍  I still remember how excited I was when buying my first new car.

@100ford2003 I still remember. It was Friday night October 27, 1972. I am probably one of the few people, who bought the 240Z new and the current 7th generation  Z new.

@jack-dodds  Well, I'll be.  This was the color of my Z, though I had the black 'racing stripe' on the rocker panels and different wheels.  It was an amazing car to drive and it was the only Asian car I can remember owning.  When I was married my wife had another Datsun, but I forget which model.  I'm more in Tony's camp, in that I have been driving Mercedes Benz voitures for decades, now.  We have a '99 E240 Sport sedan, a '72 350SLC, and an '88 300TE (California car).  Comfort first, for me.  Sports cars would tend to get me into trouble.

@gdh This orange shade and the dark green were my favorite colors for this car back in the day.

@jack-dodds My favorite was the yellow as shown in my photo. When I ordered my 240Z, it was best to be flexible about color. The green was my second choice.

 Still fully original 1972 with A/C and factory paint of 54 years ago. It is still driven every week and serviced to top condition.

I gave the car to my son a few years ago.

@jack-dodds I always wanted to own a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III because it was the last of the breed with all the convenience for long trips.

I finally got one in 1988 and had it professionally restored to concours standards. I did memorable drives across America in this beast. I will always remember the big powerful sound of the ANSA exhaust system mine was fitted with and also the hiss of the dual HD8 carbs at idle. This was quite a music to the ears.

@nickies OMG I would love to have a 3000 restored to concours level.  How long did you own it and do you regret selling it?  Any pics?
