It's no secret, I love station wagons. I couldn't believe my luck when I found this one literally rusting away in a driveway. This one happens to be a 1984 Chevrolet Celebrity. The Celebrity was introduced in 1982 as both two-door and four-door sedans. 1984 was the first year of the wagon. Available engines were a 2.5L 4-cylinder, a 2.8L V-6, and a 4.3L Diesel V-6. Cargo volume was 75 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. It's hard to believe this car is 42 years old!
Wow Pete, i didn’t know there was a wagon model. Thnx for the pics.
Hood almost looks to have been burnt. Looks to be rust on rocker panels, not sure. May have been a car from out of state with so much rust - hopefully bringing it in to work on it??

Pete.... all cars are sacred to me, but I know what I'm about to say next will sound snobbish: I've NEVER before seen anyone get so excited over a Chevrolet Celebrity station wagon. 😬 😬 😬 😬
At least the owner is consistent, the car and the yard show the same amount of neglect.
It sure doesn't look like a "Celebrity" lol. Whew, what a homely looking automobile. It needs to go away. It definitely wouldn't be worth the time or the ton of cash to do anything with it but junk it. JMHO though. Thanks as always Pete, these are fun to look at no matter what they are. I've not seen one in decades. Thankfully. 🤮😁
@chris I, too, have a penchant for estates, but I have to agree with Chris on this one.
It's not the fact that it's a Celebrity wagon, it's that it's perfect car for Around the Neighborhood! How would you like to have this thing sitting in the driveway next door?!
"How would you like to have this thing sitting in the driveway next door?"
....I get it; it would NOT be a pretty sight. 😯
Tony, the roof looks the same as the hood, so I don't think there was a fire. The original paint has worn off the hood, roof, and the south-facing right side. This is definitely a California car; the plates being issued when the car was new judging by the number/letter/number combination. This car was obviously neglected all of its life.
Celebrity wagons were produced from 1984 thru 1989. The wagon was dropped when the Celebrity was replaced with the equally memorable Chevrolet Lumina in 1990.

Whatz a Lumina… 😂 😂 🤣 🤣 Oh, that’s right…it was another 💩 Chevy

During 45 years in the Commercial Casualty Insurance industry, i had the use of a new company car every 6 months. We were responsible for getting bids on the winning car. We needed to submit 2 bids each from specifications for a Chevrolet, Ford and mopar car.
I had a couple each, at least, of the Celebrity (no station wagon) and the Lumina. Neither as bad as may be made out. But then, we also had to b id on the Chevy Citation as well. Yep, had a couple or more of them too. Ooff!!
Lol, at the post office I was at there were ‘68 Valiants. This was ‘73 and they were great. For a few years, before we got Jeeps, we had Pintos and a few Chevettes. Both were cars I’d NEVER buy.

Steve, I wouldn't mind having a Pinto today, especially a wagon!
