"Better move that recliner inside before you freeze Jack."
@bob-jackman Much better....now why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the suggestion Bob!
Isn't it remarkable how much prettier and more enjoyable snowfall gets after you retire? It's snowing here now as a matter of fact.....I think I'll have another coffee and enjoy this marvel of nature from my recliner.
I'd bet a hot chocolate with a nice Irish "beverage" would be more enjoyable 👍
@100ford2003 Absolutely Steve! Warms the heart and nourishes the soul.
An added plus....a nap or two while "visions of sugar plums dance through your head".👍🎄
Let someone else shovel the drive !
@100ford2003 I actually don't mind shoveling the driveway and sidewalk as the snow is very powdery and light. When I lived on the British Columbia west coast for many decades the snow was wet and sloppy; very heavy and a real chore to shovel.
Beautiful day in Great Smoky Mountain National Park today. Just got back from making a run. 55 degrees, full sun, soft breeze and deep blue skies. We saw a touch of snow on the mountain tops on the North Carolina side but not here in Tennessee. Stopped at Apple Valley Farms for some Christmas Cider, and took some home for the holidays - Cherry and Blackberry.
Not looking good for a White Christmas but still hoping...........

I remember that from growing up in Buffalo New York but that heavy pack snow is good for making snow forts and snowball wars !
Well the weather folks are calling for the first snow of the year here in New Jersey. Anywhere from 1 to 5 inches forecasted by Sunday morning. I have already sent a text to my snow shoveler that if we get 4 or 5 inches I'll need his services. Even though I am on oxygen 24/7 and have a heart problem, I still will do what I have to do to take care of our property, if it's only a couple of inches my wife and I will handle it ourselves.
To follow up to Bob Jackman's earlier post about nice weather 12 months a year, I'm not sure but I seem to remember that Bob lives in either Mississippi or Alabama. In 1976 I was stationed at Eglin AFB in the Florida panhandle, which is very close to Alabama and I'm not to sure how far Mississippi is. Anyway it was in the fall, and I was on second shift, temps one night went down to the upper 30s maybe low 40s which Floridians consider "arctic" temps, and snow flakes started coming down, snowed long enough to cover all grassy surfaces and trees. Has anyone ever seen palm trees with snow on them, I have. And the folks down there have no clue how to drive in snow.
