Greetings, elderly lounge lizards of the Northern Hemisphere. Another cold, dull November day. You are struggling to extract enough warmth from the sun's feeble rays to kick-start the metabolism and loosen the creaky joints, and the hibernation instinct is coursing strongly through your veins. Did you hear a little voice in your head this morning saying "Get out of bed, you lazy old so-and-so? And another little voice replying "Ach, why bother?" I bring you a small message of hope and encouragement. You may vaguely recall (or may have mercifully forgotten) that about a year ago I posted my rather noisy hymn of defiance to the passing years ("Ain't Too Old to Rock"). But I recently decided that maybe I needed a more sedate, low-key way of saying "Hey, I'm still in business." So here it is. "Slow Rider". If the words don't make an awful lot of sense, well, nobody said they have to. But you may take some inspiration from the underlying sentiment. Three minutes and eight seconds that could transform your dwindling self-image forever. Or not. p.s. And before you ask, yes, I have seen Clint Eastwood's "Pale Rider". I think it must have been lurking somewhere in my subconscious when I put this together, although it didn't actually dawn on me until afterwards.

That's because I have been sending them my messages of hope and encouragement on a regular basis. A bit of a slow business on the ouija board but you gotta try and do your best for your elders.

Thank-you Graeme for all the chuckles I got whilst reading that. May I, or we, look forward to an autographed bound memoir collection in the near future ? I'm sure that it would be quite an entertaining read.
