Maybe I'm the exception...when I see people doing donuts and burning tires down to the nub I cringe. Even if the car is a piece of junk, I see the car as being violated.

...yes, you're the exception. Most gearheads, speed freaks, and pedal-heavy folks LOVE burnouts. The noise, smoke, smells, etc., are like drugs!
HOWEVER, what's difficult to grasp is the attraction of this uncontrolled lunacy. YouTube is filled with ****heads like this who apparently are not only sadistic masochists, but incredibly reckless and, well, stupid.
Well, I'm an exception too. I have always hated it. A burnout is meant for a drag strip but only far enough to get the tires hot and sticky. Donuts? I hate them.
Chris, GREAT job sir, in picking out a terrific video to illustrate.
Me too. I cringe every time I see or hear it. Even as a teenager doing the occasional drag race, I felt that a steady foot that let the tire grip and not spin gave far better acceleration without stressing the car.
I agree with Tony. What really makes be sick and sometimes embarrassed to be part of the human race is watching morons in fairly new, often stolen, cars taking over an intersection and doing endless smoking donuts. This often ends in them crashing into one another or striking the equally brain dead crowd watching it all with their phone cameras recording it for prosperity. Culling the herd I guess. God help us.
All the more reason I'm not into drugs....yes, you're the exception. Most gearheads, speed freaks, and pedal-heavy folks LOVE burnouts. The noise, smoke, smells, etc., are like drugs!

Minors, drugs, crowds, excessive speeds, show-offs..... What could go wrong? 😬 🤪 😳 😵
Another exception here. Just one more example of tearing apart something mommy and daddy paid for. No respect for the car and those who get caught up with these brainless wonders. There are times I wish I had gotten into law enforcement.
Bob, et al. Have to agree, reckless and damaging driving puts me off. Back in the day, even the drag strip drivers who spun excessively lost nearly every time. I had a couple of race cars that I worked over to the point they would leave less than one foot of rubber, matched by both rear wheels, then hook up and go. They lost rarely.
