I’m not a grandpa but I remember trudging thru snow since I lived in the Buffalo, NY area.

I never used the 'uphill, BOTH ways' line on my daughter. She was way to sharp for that. But I used to say that in icy weather, walking to school, for every step I took forward, I'd slip back two! She asked, well how did you ever get there then? I said, I walked backwards!!
