Having recently acquired a hearing aid whose main function is apparently to amplify the sound of cutlery and kitchen utensils to epic proportions (at the expense of intelligible human speech), and having had cataract done on both eyes a couple of years ago, I enjoyed this old Monty Python sketch which I don't remember seeing back in the day. As someone commented, it takes absurdity to the limit and just keeps on going.
Enjoy. (No it isn't a silent movie. Turn up the volume, there's a good chap.)

Perhaps you hadn't seen it before because you hadn't had your cataract surgery yet.
Did you say something, Paul?

Don't you know how much fun they had making Monte Python. AND, they got paid for it.
Had double cataract surgeries back in 2010 with Tecnis multifocal lens implants and double capsulotomies in 2014. 20-15 vision in both eyes. Recently got my second pair of 'smart' hearing aids. Now THESE I love. They work with your smart phone and are invaluable.
They do everything from switching to the environment that you're in - outdoors, crowd, restaurant, telephone, TV, movie theater and everything in between. They call whoever you program in in case of a fall, count health steps, keeps track of health exams, etc., and can locate a missing hearing aid, tell you when the battery is low and you can adjust them three ways from Sunday. Makes life a tiny bit better than before.
@perrone1 Sounds like your hearing aids are smarter than me. I knew it would happen some day.
"Goodnight folks, just a fairy-tale."
Thanks Graeme... 😀 😀 😀
@paul-rouffa An elderly man was telling his friend about his new hearing aid. I’m so excited about this one, he said, I’ve tried so many that didn’t work for me, this one is fantastic!
That’s really great, the friend said. What kind is it?
Two o’clock!
That's what I thought you said. Gee, these intraocular lenses are just wonderful. Why, next Tuesday unless the train is late!Did you say something, Paul?

My brother-in-law's grand piano needed to be professionally tuned. After several inquiries he found an older gentleman willing to do it for considerably less than all others; he arrived a few days later, as promised and spent about 5 hours tuning the piano. Around 4pm he announced he was finished. My B-in-L was amazed - How can you work for 5 hours tuning a grand piano but charge so little?
"What?"
"What?"
@bob-jackman Thanks Bob.... it's kind of a lame joke, but it's one that always cracks me up. 🤣 😆 🤣
