"Was there a reason you didn't get in to the 1:24 scale?"
Good question.
A: I deemed then, as I do now, 1/18's to be the better "value." Generally speaking, the same models were produced in 1/18 but at lower price points and with greater detail.
When many 1/24 "MINTS" were "3 payments of $39.99" or "4 payments of $29.99" 1/18 HW61 models, for example, were $39.99 - $49.99
They were larger, heavier, and everything opened on correct aspect hinges (no "dog legs" ) driveshafts rotated rear wheels - sometimes even the fan blades, gas doors & glove boxes opened, antennas were posable, etc., etc.

I need to get to my storage to check for sure. Offhand I know I've the '69 Camaro convertible in white with orange interior and Studebaker Golden Hawk. As soon as I get there and start going through stuff I'll take some pictures and post them.

@100ford2003 Like Geno, what do you have left?
Hello Bob, please see my reply to Geno. Thank you, Steve
good post George. I have a few 'exact' repaints, kinda restricted by display space. What I do have, and very eagerly strive to acquire is pairs, or 3s of body styles, of the same car. Commonly hardtops and convertibles and a few with the wagon also included. Closer to repaints in my collection are subtle design features in cars from year to year, I have all C1 Corvettes and multiple squarebird T'Birds as just a couple of examples.I have all of them except 3 are different colors
I remember some years back here on the Forum a discussion about different colors of the same models. Some folks only bought one of the colors available, and some didn't buy a model because it wasn't the color they would have preferred it to be. Both interesting scenarios to me. I never waited or hoped for a particular color, if I liked the car, I bought any and all colors it became available in.
I remember once that a fellow Forum member questioned my rational for that, to which I replied that back in the day, all cars came in serval colors, so I'm interested in having them in my collection.

Thanks for the response. Our opinions differ on the size factor, but I understand your point about the cost. For me, it's a space thing, as 1:18's take up far more space than 1:24's.
