ONE LINERS ON AGING.

Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old only by deserting their ideals

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up interest wrinkles the soul.

Douglas Mac Arthur

Old age is always 15 years older than I am.

Bernard  Baruch

It has been said that their is no fool like an old fool, except a young  fool. But the young has first to grow up to be an old fool to realize what a damn fool he was when he was a young fool.

Harold  Macmillan

The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.

Lucille Ball

Your only young once, but you can be immature all your life.

Charles Scoggins

The secret to staying young is plastic surgery, hair dye and removal of all bathroom mirrors.

All good ones David; thank you. And yours, Jack, is equally excellent.

I've learned through personal experience, that you're not yet seriously old until you are proud of being old. And you want people to know how old you are and then tell them; whether they asked or not!

It seems to me that we all have a choice regarding aging.  We can dwell on how much time we may have left on average and wish our lot in life was better, bigger, richer, longer or whatever....or we can be thankful every morning that we are fortunate enough to be granted yet another day. Another day to appreciate what we have achieved, the safety and security our country has provided for us, the vast percentage of good and kindhearted people that surround us, the families we have been blessed with and what we have done or plan to do individually to contribute to the well being of others.  To me this is aging at its best.... appreciation, respectfulness, kindness and contribution.

One we all have heard and maybe grew older hearing is: "If I knew I would have lived this long, I would have taken better care of myself." Man, how true for me!

My mom, Hilda Vandermeer said these words when asked about age; she lived to be 97.
