Probably never see another single US car with that many choices ever again in our lifetime. WOW!

My favorite "everyday man's car" of its decade; my father bought a new 150 2dr. wagon in white over metallic green.

I learned to drive in the two door Bel Air sedan. My brother’s first car was a green 150 two door.

That's neat info John. We'll never see variety like that again. 

My first car was a '55 Chevrolet 210 2 door Sedan which I purchased in the early 1960s.

Really sensational 1955 Chevrolet. My Dad had a '55 2-door Chevy coupe.

Those were the days when ordering your car personalized really meant something.

I agree we will never see this again.  Back in rural PA most dealerships never had room for huge lots. Most used the space for a few cars, used cars, and the repair area.  The last car I ordered back in PA was my 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass. It was so cool seeing driven off the truck the day I picked it up. Every car I bought after moving to DC was off the lot or transferred from one of the mega lots from the same dealership.  
Just a memory of my father and I searching both the DC area and PA for a Hawaiian blue Pontiac Firebird with T-tops. I passed up 2 other really nice models (colors) for that car.  We even had a plan where a dealership back in PA found one in New Jersey. We planned on driving to Jersey picking up the car and I would take my dad back to PA and then I would continue on to DC.  When my mom heard this she thought it was ridiculous and cooled our jets.  I ended up buying a Nissan 240 SS in DC area. 

My Dad is the only family ever to order a new car. He bought a 1964 Ford Econoline Falcon in green.  When it arrived, it was blue. I was glad, liked the blue over the green.
