@perrone1 Back in the day I owned a used ‘66 Caprice. At the same time my best friend had a ‘66 SS Impala, and my late brother had a ‘65 SS Impala 4 speed  convertible. Seemed like every 4th or 5th car that drove by in our small town was a ‘65 or ‘66 Chevy. For a good reason, in my opinion they were the consummate ‘every man’s’ car of the time, size, styling, performance, reliability, they had it all! Another great pick John, thanks!

My cousin Eddie bought a ‘65 2dr hardtop Impala in a light yellow color and I loved it !
I was 12 but I knew which cars I liked and the ‘65 Impala with its beautifully restyled body hit all the right cylinders. I thought there were quite a few handsomely styled ‘65s like Ford Galaxie, Pontiacs, Olds & Buicks and full size Dodges.

Cool! I had one too - but it was an automatic four-door family car.  Crying

Beautiful car, the 1965 even more so.

Depending on the site Google brings up, $3883 in 1966 is somewhere between $37K and $40K today.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

This car is equipped to go fast. No real comfort options like power steering, power brakes or AC.
