For a car lover, Highway Patrol is one of the best old TV shows ever!  Every episode was loaded with the old cars we love.  And Crawford was a hoot when he talked.  It was always so fast!  One of my favorite character actors, William Boyette, also played semi-regular in the show as one of the patrolmen.  Interesting fact about Boyette is that whatever TV show he appeared in, he was always a cop.  He was was in Dragnet, Perry Mason, and Adam-12, and was always a cop.

Also, Maisto made a diecast replica of the "Highway Patrol" Buick in 1/27 scale. Pretty cool !

We watched it weekly at our house too - on the BIG screen; what, 14 inch diagonal??

We had a 19 inch Philco, it seemed so modern and huge in 1955!
