Being a station wagon fan, this is one of my favorite concept cars of its era.

For Sure. Would fit right in with the 1956 Lincoln line-up.

another sensational contribution in this series thanks John. Now where in the hell am I gonna find out more about this:

"The Plainsman embarked on a global journey. From Havana, Cuba, to Mexico, Australia (where it underwent conversion to right-hand drive)"

@jkuvakas The frenched headlamps and rear fins (from this angle) are definitely '56 Premier-like. Remove the bumper intakes and add Premier grille and sidelights and there you'd have it!  Keenly spotted John.

Yep; as I looked over this VERY intriguing wagon, I saw many Lincoln styling cues like everyone else. GREAT choice for the 'Something Different' posts John!!  Wink

Wow!  🙄 😲 😲    Shows you how stupid I am, I always thought THAT WAS A Lincoln (FoMoCo concept )   🙄 🙄 🙄

I've only just briefly glanced at B/W photos, always assuming it was the wagon version of FoMoCo's  1953 X-100 concept, which pre-dates FoMoCo's  1954 XM-800, in which the 1956 Lincoln was based.  Wild! 😎

I was surprised to find the rear quarter design of the 1953 X-100 concept contains styling cues of the '61-'63 Thunderbird.

@chris That is quite remarkable considering the 8 year difference ('53 to '61).
