Both cars - CLASS! The Lincoln, I love it, but it is a touch behind times going into the 50's. Too upright & uptight, one dimensionally rigid. The Caddy is sleek and low and gorgeous!

Tough decision for me. I agree the Cadillac is certainly newer looking but that doesn't mean much to me as I respect tradition and style which the Lincoln in spades. Although I like both, pulling into a cars and coffee or car show with the Lincoln would make it my choice.

Tough choice: the best of the future versus the best of the past. I'll go with the new Cadillac that begins the marque's storied postwar history.

I went with the Caddy as well. It looks more the part and exudes luxury and elegance.😊

@perrone1 I agree 100 percent with you on this pairing.  Not really a fan of either, but I went with the Caddy as well.

No thank you, no interest in '48 luxury cars.  Nice to look at but I would not care to own one.

@bob-jackman

Bob +1. Lincoln has more presence.

The Lincoln is magnificent but dated. The Cadillac is more modern.

Lincoln for the reasons Bob and David said and besides, I prefer “old money”.

Both are beautiful and luxurious cruisers ! After the deprivations of World War II, these must have almost seemed like spaceships from the future.

I can only imagine a possible future in which a "world government" has mandated any allowed private road transportation must be a box-shaped, plastic-composition, rented device powered by D-cell batteries, that these each might be pretty nice !

Cadillac styling wins handily; never was a fan of the rear of the Lincoln.

Love both but my pick is the glamorous '48 Cadillac. The Continental had the troublesome V12 flathead and many owners had that engine replaced with the Mercury V8 flathead.

Gents, thanks for your replies.
