I think I have to go with the more familiar Buick for the '52 year. Packard came into its own by '55 and '56 but for '52 Buick wins in my eyes.
I never cared for this generation Packard, but it took my vote today. Maybe the colors and the wire wheels, but it does it for me.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Great colors on both of these beautiful automobiles ! That might be the toughest job in deciding what hue to get on either of these cars.
Not a fan of either and in '52 I would have bought a Hudson or a Mercury. Prefer the looks of the Packard here.
I prefer the more flowing body lines of the Buick but like both cars very much.
To my eye the Packard has a more "formal" look and that better suits the upper-crust class of car represented by these two, IMHO.

Buick for me.The only Packard I liked from this era is the 53 Caribbean and to a lesser degree, the 54.

Agree with Barry.

I much prefer the squarer automobile lines than the "flowing body lines" like a work of art; I want a car not a work of art. Just like the '61 - 63 T-bird looks like a rocket ship, I want a car that looks like a car. JMO
@brush Never in the 34 years I have owned my 63 Sports Roadster Thunderbird has anyone ever mistaken it for a rocket ship.

And accordingly Bob, I'm sure no one has ever mistaken you for Slim Pickens when operating it.

But it was designed to resemble a jet or rocket like quite a few cars of the same period. Love your roadster but dislike the hardtop. I prefer the square-birds, '58 - '60 & '64 - '66 or your roadster.
