Buick for me. Much more modern.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Tie, don't like either one equally. '54 would have bought a Mercury.

Similar desigh features but I prefer the Chrysler. I liked the DeSoto best that year.

Oh man, John, you're killing me here. Love both. The Buick has that pouty-mouth grille. I love it, it's like a party girl just before she decides to do something untoward. Those wheels - OMG! Fabulous color combo. But then the New Yorker. Crisp and clean. Stately. Those wheels - OMG! Fantastic paint scheme. I wan them both. Which? Can't and won't decide; going tie on this puppy!

OMG!  This might be the biggest "no-brainer" for me to date on these "Which Ones?".  How loud can I shout

BUICK?

The Chrysler is extremely old dated looking in comparison.  And so Boxy too!

Similar design features???  Am I looking at the same two cars you are?  These two cars couldn't be farther apart in design features...at least to my eyes.  The Buick is low, sleek, and sporty.  While the Chrysler is bulbous, boxy, and extremely late 40s looking.  They are polar opposites.

George, to me the Buick looks more bulbous and overweight while the Chrysler looks trimmer and more boldly designed. Eye of the beholder, I guess.

Buick with it's full radiused wheel openings which began with the 53 Skylark.

Well, I guess I'll have to accept that rationale.  But I disagree.

Tie again.  The Chrysler looks a bit outdated but to me it is more formal. The bumper must have weighed a ton.

It is about time Buick designed a car that looked sporty. The dropped side molding matches the droopy growl face. Those tear drop head lights are interesting and of course the portholes.

Chrysler is a conservative but classy design; I prefer it to the underbite look of the Buick.

Both gorgeous - but the Chrysler oozes class and distinction.
