Poll: Which '55? (6/4/2024)

I like the Pontiac better, especially in that color combo! I've got one just like it from FM in my 1/24 display case.

Oh my! Several pluses and minuses for both in my estimation. Close to a draw but I'm voting Poncho today! 

For most of my life, it was the Pontiac. Now, it is the Mercury.

'54 to '56 Mercury, the first Pontiac I liked was the '57.

I did not really care for Pontiac's until the early sixty's, so my vote goes to the Merc.

Mercury for me. I like its aggressive stance.

Strange thing David; I am thinking the exact same way.  This year is my favorite Pontiac of its decade and this year Mercury is a very close second for me after the '53.  I went back and forth several times before deciding on the more aggressively and crisply styled Mercury, but man it was so close.  The extra front bumper bar on the Pontiac detracts IMO as it blocks the view of its grille main feature.

What beautiful 1950's automobiles ! We had a attractive and quite reliable 1955 Pontiac that remained in the family for many years.

How interesting! I would have bet this was going to be a landslide in favor of the Pontiac.

No question for me the Mercury it looks so much more modern.

I always like that Pontiac but the Merc gets my vote today. 👀

As much as I like the '55 Mercury, I could never vote against my longtime favorite '55 Pontiac.
