The racy Dodge, especially in those colors.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

The Dodge was coming into its own in the mid-fifties and starting to get more of a recognition based on prior styling and mechanical improvements. The Star Chief appeared much the same as the prior year model. Pontiac, a little too glitzy, while the Royal Lancer (save for the Great White Shark mouth) is fresh, sleek and clean. Dodge for the win.

Another toughie! I'm going with the Pontiac. Both cars are beautiful. However, to my eye, the Pontiac appears lighter and more airy around the greenhouse, giving the car a more elegant look.

Dodge please. Pontiac didn't look good until '57 IMO.

You're my kindred spirit...1957 begins the great Pontiacs IMO.

Although I'm a life long Pontiac fan, the nose of the '56 was rather coarse looking compared to the lovely '55.  To my eye this Dodge appears sleeker and sportier...it gets the nod today.

Being honest, neither car really gets me giddy.  But in a push come to shove situation, I'd pick the PONTIAC.  Now if they were '55's, and in the same situation, I'd go with the DODGE.

IMO both of these cars were a step down from the prior year. Pontiac by the narrowest of margins.

Loved the '55 Pontiac, the '56 not so much. The tri-tone Dodge gets my vote.

Gents, thanks for your responses!
