The Mercury is stunning, and the Olds just can't compete with the Mercury's more modern look.

The OLDSMOBILE by a landslide. Looks way more modern front to back and the dashboard is a work of art in comparison to the bland Mercury's. I wouldn't turn down the Mercury, but if given the choice of it or the Olds, the Olds WINS!
