I've always loved the '57 Lincoln. My uncle used to get a new car every year. For '56, he had a Lincoln Premier sedan in light gray with a black interior. He bought a new '57 Premier coupe in pink with a white top and a black and white interior. I was smitten! As a five year old, those fins were singing my song.
Sounds like your uncle may have experienced an exciting life awakening! That is quite the body style and color contrast....good for him I say!
@bob-jackman, sadly, tragically...there was an echoing absence of any green. It took my young mind many years to figure out what that Lincoln was missing.
@jkuvakas LOL !!! Perhaps your uncle had a green pine tree air freshener hanging on the dashboard which unconsciously planted the seed of your malaise......
Curiously, to my eye the '57 Lincoln works best in convertible form as the dramatic wing/fin treatment stands free and uncluttered by the roof. Whereas the Imperial's notable design feature is the chevroned roof section we see on the Crown Imperial. So: Lincoln without roof; Imperial with.
