I prefer the Lincoln but that Imperial sure has a “space age” look. 👀

I have loved both cars. But I have coveted the '56 and '57 Lincoln longer. Hence, my vote.

I've never warmed to the late fifties Imperials. They're nice but the Lincoln gets my vote today.

Imperial for me. It looks like the future, while I can't get past what the stylists did to the Lincoln after the beautiful 1956.

To my eye the Imperial is a full styling generation ahead of the Lincoln. Plus, the '57 Lincoln was a less-than-successful "update" of the very beautiful '56.

Lincoln although everything they did to it was not up to the beautiful 56 IMO.

Honestly, neither one knocks my socks off.  The '57 Lincoln was ruined with those fins after the graceful offering on the '56 version.  And the Imperial to my eyes seems to have no cohesive flow to its styling at all.  Guess, this means I'm "sorry, I have no interest in this selection" today.

Both of these are too large and a little too overstyled for my taste, but if I have to choose one, it would be the Imperial.

That's a particularly unflattering pic of the Imperial. Look at the apparent size of the front wheel compared to the rear. Like photographing someone from six inches away with a fisheye lens so their nose looks big and bulbous. In reality it looks much more smooth, balanced and cohesive and I've always liked it.

I don't share the widespread dislike of the '57 Lincoln compared with the '56. Both are nice in their own way but I thought the '57 fins actually looked OK and the slightly stretched appearance was quite appealing.

But I'll go with the Imperial as a long-time personal favourite.

Unfortunately all I can see when I view the Lincoln is a ruined beautiful '56; so Imperial wins this one.

For me the '57 Lincoln is NOT the disaster that some say it is. Like most I do prefer the '56 Lincoln, but this compro is not about the '56 or '57 Lincoln. The '57 Lincoln gets my vote and the '57 Imperial is close behind.

Well stated John! I share your opinion. The '57 Lincoln was always a favorite of mine, though a slight disappointment compared to the '56 version, What it was, was a 'sign of the times'. In 1957, as our favorite cars started to sprout wings, the Lincoln merely followed suit.

I always felt, that if the '57 model preceded the '56, it might have been the standard to judge rather than the other way around. First impressions, as they say.

I've always loved the '57 Lincoln. My uncle used to get a new car every year. For '56, he had a Lincoln Premier sedan in light gray with a black interior. He bought a new '57 Premier coupe in pink with a white top and a black and white interior. I was smitten!  As a five year old, those fins were singing my song.
