I'm sorry, but I've no idea what you're message above is supposed to be saying.

Interesting, Bruce. Thanks. I really like that you put a lot of thought into things like this.
I think this is mostly true. But one of the problems the Edsel had was that it had a significant price overlap with both the Ford and Mercury lineups. It was supposedly going to be a cut above Mercury, but never quite made it. I would place Lincoln alongside Cadillac and Imperial, then pair Continental with Eldorado, particularly through the fifties.

@georgeschire I was just trying to show the relationship of cars in the '50's in answer to Kevin's post where he did not seem to understand what DeSoto was meant to accomplish. Those were the price points that the cars were meant to compete on in the '50's as I understood them.
@kevins I know you were being a smartass Kevin...lol....I was being a dumbass.
Seriously though, I recall wondering years ago if the DeSoto was created to perhaps be sold at Dodge dealerships and perhaps Chrysler was attached to the Plymouth dealer dealerships (at least in the post war thru 1961 era)? You know, to keep the dealer network balanced and happy...the same idea as GM did with the Pontiac/Buick lines and the Chevrolet/Oldsmobile lines.
@jack-dodds I really shouldn’t opine about things I know little about. When I was growing up my Dad was the unofficial town auto mechanic. He was a machinist by trade but very good with cars and would make pin money by working on peoples cars at our house. I would help sometimes by handing him the wrong wrench, or push the pedal at the wrong time while bleeding brakes and soak him up pretty good. When he would curse the worse I knew what was coming…” If you ever buy a ******** Chrysler product, don’t bring it here for me to work on it!” If you knew my Dad you’d know why that would stick with me. In all fairness, for all I know, Mo Pars may have made very fine products, I just never had one or paid much attention to them. I was happy with my GM products and stuck with them. I’ve had a couple of Fords, a ‘70 Mustang and a 2003 Ranger Edge, and they were both excellent vehicles. Like that saying about beauty go’s, auto makes are in the opinion of the beholder.
The Bonneville...for me it's one of my top favorites for the decade.
Gents, thanks for your responses.

I must say I am shocked by these results; I would have expected the Pontiac to win easily. But what do I know? Lol.
Jack, I expected it to be close, but I was hoping for the Pontiac to be leading.I must say I am shocked by these results; I would have expected the Pontiac to win easily. But what do I know? Lol.
