'58 DeSoto, Mercury or Oldsmobile?

I choose the Olds over DeSoto by a slight margin. Not a big fan of the Merc. The DeSoto overall look is sharp and held up well over time. 😎

DeSoto wins. It looks so good. Mercury second for its weirdness. Olds to me is overdone.

The DeSoto wins this one easily. Although I much prefer the 55-56 DeSoto this one is far better styled than the Olds and Mercury, which tie for a distant last place.

DeSoto please. Dislike the Mercury, hate the Olds. '58 the worst year of the '50's for styling of American cars.

1) OLDSMOBILE 2) Mercury 3) DeSoto
With the exception of Cadillac, I thought GM's '58 ladder of cars were beautiful. For FoMoCo, the Edsel was the standout with the Mercury close behind. And over at Chrysler Corp., the Chrysler oozed with beauty, while the DeSoto was only close behind it.

All are so very different, yet all good-looking cars to me ...... each in their own way. It almost seems that each came in 1958 from 3 different pretty cool automotive-centered planets in our solar system.

For me it's Oldsmobile, DeSoto and Mercury. IMO most cars in 1958 were overdone.
