That’s a sharp Mercury but the 59 Pontiac is one of my favorites!

Neither rank high enough to charm my socks off; especially when I wear boot socks. The one, however, to rise a millimeter above the other in my humble estimation, is the Pontiac.

An easy win for the dynamic Pontiac.

I have always like the aggressive look of this year Pontiac; especially the split grille.  The Mercury is IMHO the least appealing of any Mercury ever made.

This one should be a run-a-way vote getter for the PONTIAC!  Front to back, fender to fender, top to bottom, inside and out, the '59 PONTIAC was then and remains today (at least to my eyes) one of the most beautifully styled Pontiac's ever!

The Mercury for '59 had no rhyme or reason to its styling and didn't flow well at all.

Pontiac, the best styling GMC had in '59.  Mercury, worst is the '58, second to the worst '57, and third worst the '59.

Looks like i'm alone but I like the Mercury because of it's funky features.

I happily have 1/18 SunStar models of each of these huge and beautiful automobiles. As a kid, I had a 1/24 promo of the 1959 Pontiac.

For me in 1959, it has to be the Pontiac.
