I wanted to be nice to the DeSoto, but the Pontiac is the modern choice for me.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Pontiac please, nothing exciting but nice. clean.  Like the front of the DeSoto but the back leaves me cold.

True beauties, both of them ! I was happy and fortunate for my Dad to take me to see the DeSoto with my Mom and an older sister at the Chicago Auto Show, just before the show opened that year.

Roof, wheels, paint color = Pontiac for the win.

Tie. I respect the Desoto for giving it one more shot but too close to Chrysler for my money. The Pontiac isn’t as classy as the 1959 but I see they were in transition. Just look at the 1961. So I respect that too.

I like the Pontiac but family ties and memories make me pick the DeSoto.

I love the DeSoto styling, but yous guys already know my answer. 😁 I think this year DeSoto would have made a pretty good Batmobile.💯

Neither is a favorite of mine. The best part of the plain Pontiac is those eight lug wheels. The best part of the DeSoto is that they toned it down and made it more plain. Tie.

Voted Desoto.  Not my favorite, but 1961 was the first year of Pontiac I like.
