Highly similar platforms. I like the Ford a little better due to clean lines and the Merc's oddly-styled rear haunches.

A rare tie for me. Neither do much for me.

I much prefer the styling of the Ford in '62; especially the tail end.  Come to think of it there isn't a Ford made in the 60s that I dislike.  I never cared for the '62 Mercury tail lights and how they integrate into the quarters.  I must say though that although I am lukewarm on the '62, I really liked the other years of this car throughout the 60s.

I like both!  I chose the Mercury over the Ford only because it appears to have a little sass to the styling.  Though, I'll admit that I was disappointed that Mercury was again more of a Ford looker than a unique style of its own like it was from 1957 to 1960.

I much prefer the cleaner lines of the Galaxie.

The discontinuity of Mercury's side trim was enough to send my vote to the Ford.

Not a fan of either, but I went with the Ford.  Just like the grille a little better.

Guess I'm in the minority here, but I actually very much like the '62 Mercury taillights, and voted for it today because of them!

Like George, I like both ! Attractive and big full-size cars and available with some strong Ford or Mercury V-8 engines.
