Two elegant cars, icons for their brands, but the Pontiac wins for me by dint of its newer underpinnings. But boy was this a tough choice.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
What beautiful and powerful V-8 automobiles and very different in exterior styles from each other.
I had to ponder over this one for about 1-1/2 seconds…Grand Prix! PS.. Northwest Auto Sales is about 15 minutes from my home here in North Canton, Ohio. Visited many times over the years. Dang, what a beautiful Pontiac!
Ed said it to my parallel thinking and Kevin's side shot of the car cements it - Pontiac. The Grand Prix, in this color combo, just barely outclasses the Studie. Pontiac for the win.
I really like both. The Studebaker was the last of a breed and the GP the first of another. The eight lugs take the win.
This wasn't as easy as I would have thought it would be for me. Without seeing photos and if asked "Which One?", I'd likely had blurted out Studebaker. Not that I cared for its (seemingly to my eyes) dated styling, but rather that in '62 I still wasn't a fan of the Pontiac look after the gorgeous '59. However, the "side-by-side" pic and the "eight lugs" (spoken of by Mr. Jackman) of the Pontiac won me over. PONTIAC for the win today!

I'll do my war dance now. Thanks John. 😁
The one Studebaker I liked, but I prefer the Pontiac.
What is the fascination with 8 lug nuts?

@brush LOL...it's not the number of lug nuts but more that the wheel design presents so well; strong and aggressive looking IMHO.
I concur with many comments and reasons that this one is very close but for me the Pontiac GP is a tad more sleek and stylish.
Pontiac gets my vote. The Studebaker design looks (to me) well past it’s sell buy date. An older gentlemen had a Studebaker ( not sure 62 or 63). When he would drive up the rode I would wonder what that car was. Originally thought it was foreign. One day got on my bike road up to his garage and asked what it was. I was real young then and just learning about cars. Read up on Studebaker brand (believe or not from an encyclopedia) and mentioned it at the dinner table. Here is the point of the story…. Sometimes pain comes from knowledge. After some discussion about what I learned about Studebaker I was punished for riding my bike across a busy cross street.
@geno Hey Geno, I thought sure you were going to ask me why it took me so long to decide!
