The '62 is not one of my favorite Mercurys of its decade but it beats the Dodge easily today.  This Dodge was never available in Canada so that may be a factor fpr me as well.

I prefer the Dodge. It has cleaner lines.

I went with the Dodge, like Ed said, cleaner lines.  👀

I believe the Dodge pictured is actually a 1964.  I much prefer the '64, as pictured I will vote Dodge, but if a '62 Dodge against the '62 Mercury I'll take the Mercury.

Replace the picture with a '62 and I'll vote Mercury. If the picture stands I'll vote Dodge.  So what am I voting?

1962 or not, I like both choices today about equally.

@brush Bruce, I replaced it. Thanks.

With the wrong year again, I believe that is a '63.

'62 Custom 880 I owned, had the '61 Dodge front clip installed on a '62 Chrysler Newport:

Dodge I paid for (10)

'63 had a much nicer front end

Obviously the Dodge 880 is not in my wheelhouse...not worth the effort to replace a second time...thanks again.

@brush Bruce; as I mentioned, the 880 series Dodge was never offered in Canada so I am not very familiar with it.  I wonder about the reason for the creation of this car, which seems to simply be the placement of a '61 full size Dodge nose on a '62 Chrysler body.  Was this a last minute effort to find a place in the full size market as the result of Chryco beginning to realize the possible impact of its unfortunate decision to downsize the Plymouth/Dodge for 1962?

@jack-dodds

I believe you are right Jack. Apparently hey got caught without a full - size Dodge in '62 so they went to the parts bin.  '63 looks much better to me.
