These comparison results and comments are always so interesting. I am very surprised that the Ford wasn't a runaway winner this time.

John knows his audience! He does his diabolical Bono-Best to flabbergast and bewilder each of us into questioning ourselves as to which one we USED to love, used to hate and which ones we've mellowed out and currently accepted. He's awfully good at what he does! (I say we short-sheet him when he's not looking!)

Quite true. I enjoy it very much for all the reasons you mention Tony, plus I have been surprised at how my opinion on various cars has been swayed/changed by considering the thoughts and opinions of other Forumites over time. The amount of visual exposure and varied opinion does make a difference....which is great IMO.

Mom kept sending me to those darned things but I still found my way home anyway. Once she sent me to an Israeli Kibbutz - and I'm not Jewish. I had to hitch many rides to get back home only to find out the family moved!

Nicely articulated!

You hitchhiked home from Israel?
You hitchhiked home from Israel?
It's true. Wasn't (quite) as hard as you'd think. Hitching a ride West, on a small freighter on the Mediterranean wasn't difficult. But it only went so far as Gibraltar. I had my thumb out a long time there before I caught a ride on a fishing trawler that headed back across the Atlantic to N.C.
Smelled like fish for a week and all the cats kept following me wherever I went.
