Steve, a few days ago I had an entire rave on how great the '64 Mercury Marauder looks in fender skirts. The early to mid '60s Mercurys do wear them well in my humble opinion.
Today it's the Dodge, but they're all terrific.

I'm not an expert, but I wonder if the Oldsmobile is not a '66 ? That aside, I would go for the Mercury as I love its uncompromising straight and boxy lines. Though the more I see the front fender 'vent', the more I wonder if it contributes anything.
LOL, I love how each of our eyes sees something different to like. Those "uncompromising straight and boxy lines" of the Mercury were such a turn off for me, while you embrace the look.

George I have noticed in past comments that you seem to have a liking for post mid sixties, muscular car looks. Whereas for me 1965 is a turn-off date, as far as sixties styling is concerned. I think we all like different epochs for different reasons and within any of those epochs, we hone-in on the look that says what we like about that time. Hence I'm all for curvaceous styling pre 1957. But post '57 it's angular futurism and then post '61 straight lines. Equally, 1920s straight lines, but for different reasons, (although cultural equivalents may be drawn)...

I never liked the '64 Mercury and Ford. I thought they looked too fat and I didn't like the styling of the front end of the Mercury
I prefer the 63 and then the 65 & 66 styling. The '64's leave a bad taste in my design brain.

Steve; like you, I much prefer the 1963 Ford and Mercury nose and tail end treatment to the '64 and I too love the '65 and '66 Ford and Merc styling.

I think you have great taste in automotive styling... Lol...!

I love the Oldsmobile for its great looks and its build quality, and the Mercury follows closely.
